From statistical measurements
of EU and of the corresponding deaf unions of Greece,
U.K., and Finland, it has been derived that there is
a shortage,
of electronic services and tolls that support the learning
of Sign Language. Moreover, it is a common agreement
that this shortage of tools and services extends to the
field
of network services such as portals and e-learning applications.
The scope of the project is to fill this gap with its
subsystems-project deliverables, which according to their
description, are:
- E-learning
environment, including a rich multimedia dictionary
of the Greek, Finnish, and English Sign Language
for Beginners.
- Creation
of electronic educational content of the Greek, Finnish,
and English Sign Language.
- Portal
and forum of the Sign Language.
- CD/DVD
ROM production of the Greek, Finnish, and English Sign
Language for
Beginners.
