Aim
Due to the reduction of the consolidated budget we will
try to follow the next directives:
-
we
will not make any changes at the number of deliverables
of the current project
-
we
will realize and deliver the described products
as they are described
in the proposal (from a quality
point
of view)
-
the
educational material and the e-content which
will also be in video format will cover the
knowledge field for sign language, will
be adjusted to be adequate enough, but in less
extent due to the reduction of the budget
-
the
pilot applications - running of the services
and products, of the
project
will
target smaller end user communities
than originally planned
- From statistical measurements
of the EU and of the corresponding deaf unions
of Greece, U.K., and Finland, it has been
derived that there is a shortage, of electronic
services and tools that support the learning of Sign
Language.
Moreover, it is a common agreement that this
shortage of tools and services extends to the field
of network
services such as portals and e-learning applications.
The scope of the project is to fill this gap with its
subsystems-project deliverables, which according to
their description, are:
- An E-learning environment,
including a rich multimedia dictionary of
the Greek, Finnish, and English Sign Language for
beginners.
- Creation of the electronic
educational content of the Greek, Finnish, and English
Sign Language.
- Portal and forum of
the Sign Language.
- CD/DVD ROM production
of the Greek, Finnish, and English Sign Language
for Beginners.
