PROFILE

The Danish Deaf Youth Association (DDYA) is a non-governmental, non-profit
organization working for the benefit of the approximately 2.000 Danish young deaf people in the age of 0-30 who are using Sign Language.

The objective of our work is that young deaf people obtain the same rights and entitlement as any other citizens. DDYA became independent from Danish Deaf Association in 1994 and have more than 500 members.

DDYA is working closely together with Danish Deaf Association to promote the interests of young deaf people within the fields of schools, education, employment, leisure-time activities, and social conditions. DDYA have a close co-operation with the Deaf Youth Clubs in selected topics.
