Overview


The Hellenic satellite TV plays an  important role for Greeks abroad and ensures ERT's international televised  presence.
It represents the principal  communication mechanism keeping alive the Hellenic language and historical  memory, it diffuses contemporary culture and keeps viewers informed of the  events which shape the country's evolution.
ERT's satellite TV programme was inaugurated in 1990 on the  occasion of the conclusion of the Greece - Cyprus bilateral agreement.
At present, the satellite programme  broadcast 24 hours a day and is received in Europe, in the Eastern  Mediterranian, the Middle East, USA, Canada, Africa and soon in Australia and,  it is cable - linked in Belgium and Germany.
The programme is made up of topics and entertaiment produced by  NET(news - information), ET-1(all - audience), ET-3(regional channel) and R.I.C.  and includes a specially designed programme for the Greeks abroad.
Through its constant technical renewal and its  quality programmes ERT-SAT faces the challenge of the new satellite era by  showing its powerful profile to both the Greeks abroad and the International  community.
With a site on Internet and Teletext services ERT-SAT  provides the most updated information to its audience.
